일하는 방식에 맞춘 투명한 공간

도시 풍경을 한눈에 담을 수 있는 빌딩 최상층. 넓게 펼쳐진 커튼월 너머로 서울의 시티뷰가 가득 들어오는 이곳은, The Chemus가 새롭게 자리잡은 오피스 공간이다. 45평 규모의 이 공간은 전통적인 오피스 배치를 벗어나, 일의 본질에 더욱 가까운 자유롭고 유연한 분위기를 향해 나아갔다.

클라이언트는 요청했다. "가장 좋은 자리는 직원들이 편하게 쓸 수 있었으면 좋겠습니다."

이에 따라 디자이너는 시티뷰가 가장 잘 보이는 커튼월 쪽에 라운지와 회의실을 배치하고, 워크스테이션은 최소한의 면적으로 효율적으로 정리했다. 총 6인의 좌석이 오픈된 형태로 배치되어 팀원 간 자연스러운 교류를 유도하며, 구획의 경계를 흐린다.

특히 주목할 지점은 회의실의 형태다. 모든 벽은 유리로 구성되어 있어 평상시에는 라운지의 연장처럼 느껴진다. 단절 대신 투명성을 선택한 공간은, 회의가 비일상이 아닌 일상임을 보여준다.

A Transparent Space Tailored to the Way We Work

At the top floor of a newly built office building, where the city unfolds through a sweeping curtain wall, The Chemus has found its new home. This 149-square-meter space breaks away from traditional office layouts, embracing a freer, more flexible atmosphere aligned with how people work today.

The client had one clear request: "Let the best part of the space be for the team."

With this in mind, the designer placed the lounge and meeting room along the curtain wall to maximize the stunning city views, while keeping the six-person workstations compact and open. The layout encourages natural communication and movement, blurring the conventional lines between desks and departments.

A standout feature is the meeting room. Constructed entirely with glass partitions, it remains visually connected to the lounge even when in use. This approach favors transparency over isolation, reflecting a culture where meetings are an everyday part of collaborative work—not interruptions from it.
