이 프로젝트는 제주도 국제학교 인근의 글로벌에듀로에 접한 삼각형의 대지에 3세대를 위한 주택을 설계한 것입니다. 각각 100평이 넘는 3층 규모의 3주택으로, 각 건물에는 옥탑이 포함되어 있어 특별한 경험을 선사합니다. 가장 높은 대지에 위치해서 옥탑에 올라서면 제주도의 상징인 한라산과 서귀포 앞바다의 드넓은 풍경이 한눈에 들어옵니다. 삼각형 대지의 독특한 형태를 고려해 3세대 주택을 배치하며, 공간 활용을 극대화하고 조망을 최우선으로 삼았습니다. 각 세대는 독립적인 생활을 보장하면서도 제주의 자연을 공유하는 연결성을 갖췄습니다. 이 설계는 단순한 주거 공간을 넘어, 거주자에게 편안함과 영감을 주는 환경을 제공하는 데 초점을 맞췄습니다.

제주도는 비와 바람이 많은 거친 자연환경으로 유명합니다. 이에 주택의 외관은 단단한 돌덩어리를 닮은 모습으로 표현되었습니다. 설계는 하나의 커다란 덩어리에서 시작해, 대지의 불규칙한 모양을 분석하며 층별로 분절된 형태를 완성했습니다. 이는 땅의 흐름과 조화를 이루면서도 강인한 느낌을 줍니다. 외부 마감은 화강석을 사용해 견고함을 강조했으며, 최고급 시스템 창호를 적용해 내구성과 단열성을 강화했습니다. 지붕은 박공 형태를 유지하지만, 외부에서 거대한 단일 매스로 보이도록 가벽을 활용해 박공의 경계선을 연장선처럼 은폐했습니다. 이로써 주택은 제주의 험난한 날씨를 이겨내며 단단히 뿌리내린 듯한 인상을 주고, 동시에 독창적인 건축미를 발산합니다. 내부와 외부가 어우러진 이 집은 제주의 자연과 공존하며, 각 세대가 함께 살아갈 수 있는 특별한 터전으로 완성되었습니다.

This project involves designing a residence for three generations on a triangular plot adjacent to Global Eduro, near an international school in Jeju Island. The design consists of three three-story houses, each exceeding 100 pyeong (approximately 330 square meters), with rooftop spaces that offer a unique experience. Positioned on the highest part of the site, the rooftops provide breathtaking views of Jeju’s iconic Hallasan Mountain and the expansive Seogwipo coastline. Considering the distinctive triangular shape of the plot, the three-generation homes are strategically arranged to maximize space utilization and prioritize scenic views. Each household enjoys independent living while maintaining a shared connection to Jeju’s natural beauty. The design goes beyond mere residential space, focusing on creating an environment that offers comfort and inspiration to its residents.

Jeju Island is renowned for its harsh natural environment, characterized by frequent rain and strong winds. Accordingly, the exterior of the houses is designed to resemble sturdy stone masses. The design process began with a single large mass, which was then segmented into layers based on the irregular shape of the plot, achieving harmony with the land’s flow while exuding strength. The exterior is finished with granite to emphasize durability, and high-end system windows are installed to enhance resilience and insulation. The roof retains a gable form, but false walls are used to extend the boundary lines, concealing the gable’s edges and creating the appearance of a massive, singular structure from the outside. This approach allows the houses to withstand Jeju’s challenging weather, appearing firmly rooted while radiating unique architectural beauty. Blending interior and exterior, these homes coexist with Jeju’s nature, creating a special haven where three generations can live together harmoniously.

주거생활의 핵심 공간인 거실, 다이닝, 주방(LDK)을 1층에 통합적으로 배치하여 가족생활의 중심이 되는 공간을 조성하고자 했다. 이러한 설계는 가족 구성원들이 자연스럽게 모여 소통하고 시간을 보낼 수 있는 환경을 제공하기 위한 의도에서 비롯되었다. 특히, 남향의 전창과 오픈형 계단실을 LDK를 중심으로 배치함으로써 공간에 풍부한 자연광을 유입시키고, 시각적 개방감을 극대화했다. 이는 공간을 더 밝고 쾌적하게 만들 뿐만 아니라, 가족 간의 연결성을 강화하는 요소로 작용한다. 메인 주방은 고급스러운 이탈리아 브랜드 ‘MODUNOVA’의 제품을 사용하여 구성했으며, 주방의 중심에는 3미터 길이의 아일랜드가 자리 잡고 있다. 이 아일랜드는 이탈리아 카라라 지역의 유백색 대리석으로 마감되어 고급스러운 미감과 실용성을 동시에 제공한다. 또한, 키큰장, 아일랜드, 식탁을 모두 평행하게 배치함으로써 공간의 동선을 효율적으로 정리하고, 시각적 일관성을 부여해 1층 공간이 실제보다 더 넓고 개방적으로 느껴지도록 했다. 이러한 설계는 기능적이면서도 미학적으로 완성도 높은 주거 환경을 구현하며, 가족 중심의 라이프스타일을 효과적으로 지원한다.

The living room, dining area, and kitchen (LDK), which are central to residential life, were integrated on the first floor to create a hub for family life. This design aims to foster an environment where family members naturally gather, communicate, and spend time together. Large south-facing windows and an open staircase were strategically placed around the LDK to maximize natural light and enhance visual openness, making the space feel brighter, more comfortable, and strengthening family connectivity. The main kitchen features products from the luxurious Italian brand ‘MODUNOVA,’ with a 3-meter-long island at its core, finished with white Carrara marble from Italy, offering both aesthetic elegance and practicality. By arranging the tall cabinets, island, and dining table in parallel, the spatial flow was optimized, and visual consistency was achieved, making the first-floor space appear larger and more open. This design creates a highly functional and aesthetically refined living environment, effectively supporting a family-oriented lifestyle.
