창원 요양병원 신축 프로젝트는 경상남도 창원시 마산합포구 덕동동의 녹음이 우거진 평온한 환경 속에 위치한다. 기존에 산발적으로 배치되어 있던 3개의 건물을 하나로 통합하고, 주요 도로에 면한 중심부에 지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모의 신축동을 증축하는 계획이다. 1층에는 최신 의료 기술이 접목된 치료실을, 2층에는 고급 1인 병실을, 지하에는 대강당을 조성하여 기능적 효율성과 환자 중심의 공간 구성을 실현한다. 약 700평 규모의 연면적을 갖춘 철근콘크리트 구조의 이 의료시설은, 쾌적한 환경과 고품질 케어를 동시에 충족시키는 공간으로 재탄생하며, 도심에서 떨어진 자연친화적 입지의 장점을 살린 의료건축의 새로운 방향을 제시한다.
The Changwon Geriatric Hospital New Construction Project is located in a serene, verdant setting in Deokdong-dong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The project involves the integration of three previously scattered buildings into a cohesive complex, and the addition of a new structure situated prominently along the main road. The new wing spans one basement level and three above-ground floors, featuring advanced medical treatment facilities on the first floor, premium single-patient rooms on the second floor, and a large auditorium in the basement.
With a total floor area of approximately 700 pyeong (about 2,314 square meters), the facility is constructed with a reinforced concrete structure, optimizing both functional efficiency and patient-centered care.
Reimagined as a high-quality healing environment, the hospital presents a new model for healthcare architecture, leveraging the advantages of its nature-rich site, distanced from the urban cores of Changwon and Masan.
여성을 위한 배려, 공간의 품격으로 완성되다
190평 규모로 구성된 1층 공간은 여성 암환자 및 여성 요양환자를 위한 전용 치료 시설로 조성되었다. 최신 의료기기를 갖춘 이 치료구역은 기능적 효율성을 넘어, 심리적 안정과 프라이버시를 고려한 고급스러운 인테리어로 완성되었다.
따뜻한 조명과 원목 텍스처의 조합, 은은한 베이지 톤의 가구 배치는 환자들에게 정서적 위안을 제공하며, 동시에 병원 공간의 전반적인 분위기를 한층 품격 있게 끌어올린다.
특히 증축된 본관 1층은 병원의 양측 출입구를 자연스럽게 연결하는 구조로 설계되어, 전체 병동과의 유기적인 동선을 완성하는 '마지막 연결의 고리' 역할을 한다. 기능과 감성이 균형을 이루는 이 공간은 단순한 치료 공간을 넘어, 치유의 시작점이 되는 새로운 장면을 만들어낸다.
A Space of Care and Dignity, Designed for Women
The first floor, covering approximately 190 pyeong (about 628㎡), is dedicated to female cancer patients and long-term care patients, and is equipped with the latest medical devices. Beyond functionality, the space is designed to provide a sense of comfort and privacy through a refined, high-end interior.
Warm lighting, wood-textured finishes, and soft beige-toned furnishings come together to create an emotionally soothing environment while elevating the overall atmosphere of the hospital.
Notably, the first floor of the newly extended wing functions as the final connecting link between both main entrances of the hospital, completing a seamlessly integrated circulation path throughout the facility.
Balancing function with emotional well-being, this space marks more than just a treatment area—it becomes the first scene of healing.
효율성과 집중관리를 위한 중심, 2층 간호스테이션 중심 구조
약 250평 규모의 2층은 고급 1인 병실로 구성된 프라이빗 병동으로, 개별 환자에 대한 집중 케어를 목표로 설계되었다. 이를 위해 간호사실은 층의 가장 중심에 배치되어 병실 전체를 한눈에 조망할 수 있도록 했으며, 의료진의 이동 동선을 최소화해 효율적인 대응이 가능하도록 구성되었다.
2층 역시 기존 건물과의 연결 동선을 통해 병원의 전체 흐름 속에 자연스럽게 통합되어 있으며, 각 병실과 복도, 로비, 그리고 간호 스테이션 간의 명확한 시퀀스는 공간 운영의 직관성과 안전성을 동시에 확보한다.
모던하고 절제된 재료 사용 속에서 따뜻한 간접 조명과 부드러운 색조가 어우러진 이 공간은, 단순한 병동의 기능을 넘어 치유와 배려의 구조를 갖춘 새로운 입원 환경을 제안한다.
A Centralized Station for Efficiency and Focused Care
The second floor, covering approximately 250 pyeong (about 826㎡), is organized as a private ward featuring premium single-patient rooms. Designed to enable focused and individualized care, the nurse station is strategically placed at the very center of the floor, providing clear visual access to the entire ward. This layout minimizes staff movement and ensures rapid response to patient needs.
The second floor is also seamlessly integrated into the hospital’s overall circulation through direct connections to adjacent buildings, allowing for smooth operational flow. The spatial sequence—from patient rooms to corridors, lobby, and central nurse station—enhances both intuitive navigation and overall safety.
With its restrained material palette, soft indirect lighting, and calm, neutral tones, the design elevates the space beyond mere function, offering a new inpatient environment rooted in healing and thoughtful care.
일상 회복을 위한 쉼의 층, 바다를 품은 치유의 3층
100평 규모로 구성된 3층은 입원 환자들의 일상적 편의를 중심으로 계획된 휴게·치유 공간이다. 이 층의 가장 큰 특징은 병원 외곽 풍경을 한눈에 조망할 수 있는 넓은 옥상정원으로, 바다를 향해 열린 이 정원은 환자들이 햇살과 바람을 느끼며 산책과 휴식을 즐길 수 있도록 설계되었다.
내부에는 고급 호텔을 연상시키는 족욕실과 건식 사우나, 개별 샤워 부스, 파우더룸 등 프라이빗한 위생 공간이 마련되어 있으며, 도수치료실과 뜸방, 수치료실 등 치료기능이 결합된 휴식 프로그램 또한 함께 배치되었다.
3층은 단순한 기능공간을 넘어, 신체적·정신적 회복을 위한 일상의 리듬을 되찾는 곳으로서 병원이라는 공간의 새로운 가능성을 제안한다.
The Third Floor – A Healing Retreat Overlooking the Sea
Spanning approximately 100 pyeong (about 330㎡), the third floor is dedicated to providing comfort and wellness-focused amenities for inpatients. Its defining feature is a spacious rooftop garden that opens toward the sea, allowing patients to enjoy fresh air, sunlight, and panoramic views as part of their daily healing experience.
The floor includes a luxurious foot bath lounge, dry sauna, private shower booths, and powder rooms—all designed with hotel-like refinement. Additionally, manual therapy rooms, moxibustion, and other therapeutic services are arranged to enhance recovery in both body and mind.
Rather than a purely functional space, the third floor offers a restorative rhythm to daily life—suggesting a new paradigm for what a hospital can be.
지하, 병원의 심장부에 마련된 공공의 장 – 대강당
지하 1층은 일반 환자들의 접근성이 용이하면서도, 지하라는 물리적 한계를 기능으로 전환한 층이다. 가장 중심에는 병원 운영에 있어 다양한 교육과 모임, 외부 강연 등을 수용할 수 있는 대강당이 배치되었으며, 이 공간은 의료진과 환자, 가족을 연결하는 커뮤니케이션의 장으로 기능한다.
자연광이 차단된 지하의 특성을 반영해 조명과 마감재는 따뜻하고 중립적인 톤으로 계획되었으며, 음향과 환기 시스템 또한 세심하게 설계되어 사용성을 극대화하였다.
그 외에도 샤워실, 휴게공간, 사무실, 기계실 등 실용적 부속공간들이 효율적으로 배치되어, 병원 전체 운영을 안정적으로 뒷받침하는 중추적 역할을 한다.
B1 – A Public Core Beneath, Anchored by a Grand Auditorium
The first basement level is designed with convenient access for patients, transforming the physical limitations of an underground space into a functional advantage.
At its heart lies a grand auditorium—serving as a multipurpose venue for medical education, conferences, family events, and external lectures. This space becomes a connective platform between staff, patients, and visitors alike.
Given the absence of natural light, the interior materials and lighting were carefully selected in warm, neutral tones to foster comfort. Acoustics and ventilation systems were also precisely engineered for maximum usability.
Supporting spaces such as shower rooms, lounges, offices, and a machine room are strategically arranged to sustain and stabilize hospital operations from within its core.
